Here we are again

We’ve been told during our whole lives to earn money.
But when we finally start getting it, we have no idea what to do with it.
Either we’re already drowned in a lifestyle that consumes all of that, or we keep filling our day-to-day life with useless, unfulfilling, insignificant and expensive things and activities, until we reach that I-don’t-have-enough-money state again.

Most of us don’t really know what we want, yet we try so hard and focus so much on getting the money, that when it finally comes, we spend it poorly.
We usually think that we can buy happiness with alcohol, parties, food, clothes and fake friends.
That the more we spend, the more we get happy.
The more we party and get trashed, the more we give meaning to our lives.

But deep inside we’re clueless.
We’re just doing the best we can.
Doing what we’ve been told by the media, by the popular kids, by our parents.
We’re just trying to fill the void inside us.
